Living a Life of SIGNIFICANCE

clip_image002In one of his teachings, Bro. Arun Gogna, the senior Feast builder of Feast Alabang (Light of Jesus Family founded by Bo Sanchez), defined success as a means of achieving your dreams while “significance” is helping others achieve their dreams.

He shared the secret of all teachers through this quote: The secret of teaching is to appear that you have learned all your life what you have just learned today. So a teacher teaches with enthusiasm and learns with the students at the same time.
The example given was their own marriage. He was a concert director and a very good one at that. That was the reason why their marriage that took place several years ago is still being talked about now. It was perfect; every moment was carefully planned,

and everybody felt the presence of the Holy Spirit and the solemnity of their marriage. They were both very happy. A few months after their marriage, several would-be couples approached them and asked for help to make their wedding as good as theirs. Bro. Arun and Sis. Lalaine obliged, and they helped their friends plan for their wedding.

He shared tips and ended with the best tip. The first kiss should be practiced, for it spells the kind of relationship and the depth of love that a couple has for each other. The best kiss is the one done with love, followed by a long and sweet embrace. He said all these things to show what living a life of significance means - helping others achieve their dreams.

3 ways to live your life:
1. A life of success - when you only fill your barn
2. A life of selfishness – when you don’t share your barn
3. A life of significance – when you share your filled barn with others

He stressed on two points before the talk ended.

1. Love is a decision. It is never based on feelings. When all emotions fail you, you decide to love the person. He loves everyone in The Feast whether he knows them or not. He had long decided to love everyone, and that made him happier all the more.

2. Don’t let your busywork rob you of giving your love to the people who love you. These people have been with you, and once you are heading to your success, you should never exchange nor ignore these people for your success. Because, success is temporary and what makes us happy is choosing a life of significance and not of pure success.

Love. Trust. Pain. Forgiveness

March 30, 2013 – It was my special day then. After a series of birthday celebrations from one set of friends to another, my fellow young single ladies and I decided to follow the mob – and off we went to the movie house for the exciting romantic sequel of Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz’s “It Takes a Man and a Woman.” I remember myself being so curious of the story line.
