Go on and risk everything, or go back and forget everything
Between now and tomorrow lie uncertainties, and that is where life’s paradox dwells.
We are taught to work hard for something we want done. We start to believe that there is a somewhere where all dreams meet as one. We heed the signs that seem to lead us to that one destination. We ignore the hindrances to keep focused. There is nothing stopping us to move forward. And then we give our partial best in any area of our life. We live, laugh, and love to experience that momentary bliss.
That is NOW.
But tomorrow doesn’t come in quickly. In between the two is a small crack, a gap, where countless heavings and sighings are witnessed. This is that one instance when doubt suddenly crowds our hopeful minds. When we suddenly realize that we are not equipped enough for the battle that awaits us. It is when life’s crossroads are met. The end of the tunnel is seen, but the only thread of hope we are clinging into is as dark as a starless night. Negativities creep in and consume most of the power left in us to push for the final destination. And then shouts of anger and despair echo through its walls. Some of us remain there, half-dead, lost, and forgotten, while the rest don’t seem deterred and stand with their last ounce of courage. As hesitations come, we are left with two choices: to go on and risk everything, or to go back and forget everything.
Where does TOMORROW lie?
It is somewhere in the big cosmos of life. It lies on the unknown, but it is surely there. It bathes with possibilities, of the good and great, of success and triumphs. It lies on the ocean of love and happiness. Its waters are continuously renewed with satisfaction and mirth. It doesn’t have a single speck of dirt, for this is where right choices and decisions lead us to. On its breadth is where true magic resides, where dreams come true, where imagination comes to life, where hopes and prayers are heard, and where true love is felt.
In between now and tomorrow lies the choice… of holding on to our dreams, or of letting the dreams remain mere wishes.
Some people say, "No pain, no gain." Me, I always look forward to the gain; the pain? I always remember to yield it to The One Who Can Bear It Best, to cast all my cares at the foot of The Cross. It's a great feeling. Try it sometime!
